The student´s body of ASME in our college still acts as an eye-opener to many aspiring mechanical engineers to lay proper path to their dreams. We also keep them excited and enchanted by conducting various events. Now our fellow members are striving for more knowledge and update in their very own mechanical stream.

A newsletter is a regularly distributed publication that is generally about one main topic of interest to its subscribers. Here is the First Newsletter of our college by Department of Mechanical Engineering & ASME student chapter jointly presenting “Brain Waves-The Mechanical Newsletter” was launched on 23rd July 2014 by our beloved Director Dr.N.Marie Wilson in presence of our principal Dr.V.Kannan and Head of the department Dr.T.Venkatamuni.

ASME was started with a mission statement of “To serve diverse global communities by advancing, disseminating and applying engineering knowledge for improving the quality of life; and communicating the excitement of engineering”. ASME is a not-for-profit membership organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing, career enrichment, and skills development across all engineering disciplines, toward a goal of helping the global engineering community develop solutions to benefit lives and livelihoods. Founded in 1880 by a small group of leading industrialists, ASME has grown through the decades to include more than 130,000 members in 158 countries. Thirty thousands of these members are students.

Regarding to our college this was our first initiative from the department for providing an outsource activity that could be knowledge inspiring was the ASME. ASME being the best activity managed resource provides all the budding mechanical engineers with all the events and conference going all around the world. Being a onetime investment that is easily reachable, this society offers all the updates in the field right into the hands of the members. It makes one feel that being a body of it is sufficient for knowing all the recent trends and facilities that´s making its feat. Altogether, it is the best place for a mechanical engineer to rest his head.

ASME strategically aligns its programs and initiatives to focus on three main organizational priorities – energy, engineering workforce development and global impact – in an effort to provide relevant knowledge-based resources to the broad spectrum of ASME members and constituents.

ASME codes and standards cover engineering disciplines ranging from hand tools and elevators to bioprocess equipment and piping systems. In general, ASME standards provide guidelines, procedures, and recommended practices for designing, operating, maintaining, and testing equipment and systems.
