The Department of Information Technology (IT) was established in the year 2011 with the sanctioned intake of 60 has now heightened to a sterling intake of 180 to facilitate the evolution of problem solving skills along with the knowledge application in the field of Information technology, understanding industrial and global requirements for the benefit of the society.
The department was accredited by NBA. The Department has the state –of-the-art facilities for various laboratories, a well-equipped seminar hall, Wi-Fi enabled class rooms to support e-learning with Projectors and a department Library.
Though the main focus is on academic excellence of students, faculty members do motivate the students to participate in technical activities for enhancing their fundamental technical knowledge. Students are also encouraged to participate in various inter-disciplinary and industry sponsored contests as well as cultural events in and outside the college. Our students make best use of these opportunities and bring laurels to the Department.
Regular training programs are conducted to enhance the employability of our students. The training programs focus on enhancing their soft skills and programming ability. In addition to the co-curriculum activities, a wide range of value-added courses are also available in order to improve and refine the overall potential of the students. As an outcome of the endeavors of the department, the students have made their flags high in various national and international forums. The department has signed about 21 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU’s)
The Department of Information Technology is associated with Computer Society of India – Chennai Chapter (CSI).
We have a strong Alumni team who are placed in well reputed MNCs’ across the globe from Coding Mart, Amazon, etc. Despite their busy schedule, they make themselves available on the campus to help the students during the placement training process by conducting mock interviews, group discussions, guest lectures, and motivational talks.

As a part of our regular e-Learning Initiative that aims at effective use of current technology to enhance the teaching-learning process and to make it learner driven the department maintains individual course pages which hosts the Syllabus, Lesson Plan, Lecture Notes and other reading materials to conduct Value added courses like Cyber security, Machine Learning, Robotics Process Automation (RPA), Internet of Things(IOT), Data Science and Big data Analytics, Interactive web designing and Progressive Java and Android Application Development.
Periodic guest lectures, workshops are organized for the benefit of students to supplement their curriculum. This facilitates our students to enrich their knowledge and to update the current industry trends.
Our research activities can be divided into three categories
The Concept research programme collects data from major public investment projects that undergo the QA scheme. Also, data collected through research projects and evaluations also stored.
Based on collected data material we analyses time trends and sector differences, perform in-depth case studies, and study challenges related to the QA scheme itself. Our research projects may focus on the development of tools and methods for appraisal and assessment, and/or on the decision process itself.
The Concept research programmed contributes to the education of students at master’s and doctoral level. We offer highly relevant research topics based on experience from the Norwegian QA scheme, and in return we receive relevant data, results, and suggestions for further research. Six Faculties are doing Ph.D. in Anna University and Sathyabama University in the areas of Machine Learning, Big Data and Information Retrieval.
21 MOUs have been signed till now. MOUs Signed with Automation Anywhere INC for Robotics Process Automation Training Programme, TroonDX Pvt. Ltd. for Data science and Block Chain, Softura Pvt. Ltd. for Internet of Things, Auriseg Pvt.Ltd. for Cyber Security, Techgig for Coding Platform, Internshala for Internship Partner , My Ways for Internship Programme, Amcat for Assessment Partner, School of Design Thinking for nurturing the design minds, Expanion for Product based Training , Six Phrase for Aptitude training, Guvi for Technical Training Partner, Face for Soft Skills Training Partner, Infosys Campus Connect for Campus Connect Programme, Comstar for Project enhancement, Visteon for Research and Development, Cipet for Short term skills cum technology, TMISAT-Israel & ITCA(Indian Technology Congress Association), Open Cosmos Pvt.Ltd and committee for Space Programme Development, Republic of Serbia for developing and launching Nano Satellite Student Project, Indian Institute of HAMS to start HAM Club.
