The Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science was started in the year 2021 with sanctioned intake strength of 120. With the advancement of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Students are transformed to industry – ready professionals by building smart machines with cutting edge technologies like Machine Learning, Computer Vision, etc.
The Department has state of art laboratory and well qualified, highly experienced and dedicated team of faculty trained in the recent trends of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The faculties of the Department are diligently working as a team to enhance the critical thinking abilities and problem solving skills of their students. Apart from imparting conventional technical education and a rich learning environment, emphasis is laid on co-curricular activities such as Seminars, knowledge sharing by Domain Experts, Value Added courses, Collaborative Learning.
AI & DS is the most conspicuous technology that is instrumental in transforming the facet of industry and mankind. The curriculum covers primitive courses such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Science using R programming, Natural Language Processing, Big Data Analytics, Analytics and Visualization technologies etc.
Our Mission is to instill in the students the knowledge for world class technical competence, entrepreneurial skill and a spirit of innovation in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science to solve real world problems. We also inculcate right attitude and discipline and develop industry ready professionals for serving the society.
To inculcate creative solutions, Data Science Club was introduced. In addition to the various industry sponsored laboratory, Nano-Satellite Research Lab is established to carry out the research projects in satellite communication, Robotic Process Automation etc.
The department will serve as a centre of excellence in practicing, training and implementing AI and AI associated techniques that will enable /support innovative thoughts and ideas across industries and society

M2:Promote learning and development of students in Artificial Intelligence thought leadership ,by providing them a suitable infrastructure and Environment, enabling them to grow into successful entrepreneurs.
M3:To encourage students to pursue higher education and research in the field of AI.
M4:To impart moral and ethical values in their profession.
I:Utilize their proficiencies in the fundamental knowledge of basic sciences, mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, data science and statistics to build systems that require management and analysis of large volumes of data.
II:Advance their technical skills to pursue pioneering research in the field of AI and Data Science and create disruptive and sustainable solutions for the welfare of ecosystems.
III:Think logically, pursue lifelong learning and collaborate with an ethical attitude in a multidisciplinary team.
IV:Design and model AI based solutions to critical problem domains in the real world
V:Exhibit innovative thoughts and creative ideas for effective contribution towards economy building
Engineering Graduates will be able to:
Engineering knowledge:(K3)Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science,engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
Problem analysis:(K4)Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
Design/development of solutions:(K4)Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
Conduct investigations of complex problems:(K5) Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions
Modern tool usage: (K3, K5, K6) Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
The engineer and society:(A3)Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice
Environment and sustainability:(A2) Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development
Ethics:(A3) Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
Individual and team work: (A3) Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
Communication: (A3) Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
Project management and finance: (A3) Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
